Position Summary:

The role of the vehicle salesperson is crucial in achieving dealership objectives related to profitability, sales volume, and customer satisfaction. This position encompasses essential responsibilities that include personal work habits, effective prospecting, sales execution, and diligent follow-up.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Understand the significance of customer satisfaction in fostering a thriving business.
  • Assess each customer's vehicle requirements through proficient communication and attentive listening.
  • Facilitate vehicle demonstrations, including test drives, to showcase features and benefits.
  • Ensure seamless vehicle deliveries by providing detailed information on operating features, warranties, and necessary paperwork to build customer loyalty.
  • Establish personal income goals in alignment with dealership productivity benchmarks and devise strategies to meet them.
  • Regularly communicate with the vehicle Sales Manager regarding objectives, activities, and performance evaluations.
  • Stay updated on new inventory, features, and accessories to enhance customer service.
  • Collaborate with the service department and body shop to promptly address vehicle reconditioning needs.
  • Engage in sales meetings and training sessions organized by the dealership and manufacturers.
  • Maintain a systematic approach for developing prospects and follow-ups to encourage repeat and referral business.
  • Review and assess daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly actions to improve time management and planning.
  • Stay informed about automotive industry terminology and technological advancements.
  • Clearly explain equity, values, and depreciation to customers.
  • Understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations governing retail automotive sales.
  • Introduce customers to the service department staff to emphasize the quality and efficiency of available services.
  • Follow all company safety protocols and report any incidents to supervisors promptly.
