Position Summary: We are seeking a motivated Production Operator to become a vital part of our manufacturing team, contributing to the realization of our digital fabrication vision. This role will involve handling materials and assembling products in both metal and wood, with a diverse range of daily tasks and products to be produced. You will collaborate closely with our manufacturing and engineering teams to create high-quality products that meet the expectations of discerning design professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently operate CNC metal and woodworking machinery, ensuring timely management of material flow and real-time inspection of parts.
- Perform final assembly of premium wood and metal products, applying standardized processes to unique configurations while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship.
- Prepare and package products to facilitate a smooth installation experience for customers.
- Act as a guardian of product quality and workplace safety, addressing concerns proactively and halting production when standards are not met.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including routine daily maintenance of production areas.
- Assist in the development and refinement of work instructions to ensure accuracy in production runs and the introduction of new products and features.
- Track material usage and submit replenishment requests as necessary.
- Collaborate with engineering to enhance workstations, mobile platforms, and fixtures to optimize material handling and product processing within our facility.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Familiarity with basic computer applications, including the Microsoft Office suite or equivalent.
- Demonstrated capacity for rapid learning of new skills.
- Commitment to safe working practices with hand tools, power tools, and industrial equipment, along with a willingness to promote safety among peers.
- Basic understanding of architectural materials, particularly wood and metal, is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and contribute effectively to team efforts.
- Physical capability to regularly lift and maneuver materials weighing up to 75 lbs and to work in various positions as required.
Location & Reporting: This position is based in Austin, TX, and reports directly to the Chief Technology Officer. It is a full-time hourly role with potential for overtime.
