Job Summary

The University System of New Hampshire is seeking a highly motivated and experienced TRIO Education Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our academic support services team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing holistic and personalized programming for TRIO Scholars participants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development
    • Design, implement, and evaluate programming to support the academic success of TRIO Scholars participants.
    • Collaborate with academic departments and other units to coordinate services and support for first and second-year students.
    • Take the lead in implementing the TRIO Scholars Success Seminar programming.
  • Direct Service
    • Provide one-on-one counseling and support to TRIO Scholars participants to help them resolve academic and personal issues.
    • Develop and implement retention strategies to support students in academic jeopardy.
    • Facilitate group educational programs and support outreach efforts to promote TRIO Scholars services.
  • Administration
    • Document student interactions and program activities in our database and UNH systems.
    • Track student participation in required services and provide data for program evaluation and outcomes reporting.
    • Contribute to the development of marketing materials and educational media to promote TRIO Scholars services.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience
    • At least 1 year of experience in college educational counseling or a related field.
  • Skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work with diverse student populations.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree
    • Preferred and 2 years of experience in college educational counseling or a related field.
  • Experience working with low-income and/or first-generation college students
    • Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
