SAIC is in search of a skilled Cybersecurity Systems Assurance Officer (CSSAO) to enhance the security posture of Air Force command and control systems managed by the 611th Air Communications Squadron.


Key Responsibilities of the Cybersecurity Systems Assurance Officer (CSSAO):
  • Ensure adherence to the Risk Management Framework (RMF) 6-step process in accordance with Department of Defense Instruction (DoDI) and Air Force Instruction (AFI).
  • Identify the necessary levels of Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability for the systems in development and select suitable security controls.
  • Create RMF documentation to support the acquisition of Authorization to Operate (ATO) and other compliance requirements for 611 ACOMS systems.
  • Develop, maintain, and revise the System Security Plan along with assessment and authorization packages, reporting any changes to the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) or designated representative.
  • Compile a list of relevant Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) applicable to the system.
  • Document all findings and decisions related to each security control.
  • Oversee hardware and software inventories provided by the system's developers.
  • Deliver RMF documentation to the 611 ACOMS for integration into RMF packages.
  • Assist the Government/ISSM in reviewing all cybersecurity documentation as required for the RMF process.
  • Provide expert recommendations for DISA STIG implementation and risk mitigation strategies, leveraging cybersecurity training and experience.
  • Evaluate and manage cybersecurity for systems within the portfolio, including the formulation of cybersecurity policies, strategies, and plans that align with high-level directives.
  • Maintain effective communication with development engineers and support staff within the 611 ACOMS to ensure accurate representation of systems in documentation and to keep track of project timelines.
  • Offer ongoing support in monitoring systems post-ATO achievement.
  • Conduct vulnerability and compliance assessments of systems.
  • Perform necessary scans of 611 ACOMS systems utilizing the most current criteria for inclusion in RMF packages and in support of the development of the Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M).
  • Evaluate and confirm that cybersecurity requirements are addressed at an acceptable risk level in architectural specifications.
  • Assess and report on program cybersecurity and protection challenges, recommending solutions, mitigations, or corrective actions through the risk management process.
  • Facilitate cybersecurity Integrated Working Group meetings.
  • Coordinate with all 611 ACOMS personnel and contractors to ensure appropriate cybersecurity requirements are applied to systems.

Qualifications:


Required Qualifications:
  • DoD M IAM Level II certification (CAP, CASP+ CE, CISM, CISSP (or Associate), GSLC, CCISO).
  • Proven experience in applying information systems security principles, concepts, and methods for RMF and project management across IT disciplines and DoD information systems.
  • Experience in implementing security principles throughout all phases of system development from requirements gathering to operational acceptance.
  • Experience in conducting information systems security assessments and evaluating cybersecurity controls.
  • Familiarity with Operational Air Force systems.
  • Bachelor's degree with nine (9) years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with seven (7) years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Must be a US Citizen and possess an active Secret Clearance.

Desired Qualifications:


  • B.S. or higher in Electrical Engineering, Network Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Sciences obtained within the last 20 years.
  • Experience with DoD approved tools (ACAS, SCAP-compliant scanners, eMASS, etc.).
  • 3+ years of experience as an Information System Security Engineer, Officer, or Manager.
