Job Overview
The Safety and Security Specialist is responsible for ensuring the well-being of various business clients, prioritizing health, safety, and security. This role involves working in a dynamic public environment, focusing on the safety of employees, visitors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor assigned areas through visual, electronic, or auditory means, engaging in various assignments such as patrolling facilities and operating vehicles.
  • Maintain high standards of safety and compliance for oneself and others.
  • Utilize verbal de-escalation techniques to manage potentially hazardous situations.
  • Inspect entry points and surrounding areas to ensure security measures are upheld.
  • Document incidents, property damage, and unusual occurrences in line with company protocols.
  • Assist in event preparations, including moving furniture and setting up displays.
  • Address rule violations and take appropriate action against offenders.
  • Communicate with on-site personnel regarding visitors and appointments.
  • Respond effectively to emergencies, including fire safety and active shooter scenarios.
  • Conduct routine checks of safety and life support systems.
  • Issue and track identification badges as necessary.
  • Monitor operational systems such as heating, lighting, and security.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure departmental success.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in security, law enforcement, or military service.
  • Ability to pass a background check and obtain necessary licensing.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to make independent decisions under pressure.
  • Physical stamina to remain on foot for extended periods.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Commitment to safety as this is a critical aspect of the role.
  • Adherence to all safety regulations and guidelines.
Working Conditions
This position involves both indoor and outdoor environments, often in varying weather conditions. The role may require standing, walking, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
