Protection Specialist

POWER Engineers is seeking a skilled Protection Engineer to join our Power Delivery SCADA & Analytical Services (SAS) Department. This role offers the opportunity to work on challenging projects and initiatives, making a positive impact on society and the environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Successful completion of assigned projects, including electrical studies for utility and industrial/commercial clients.
- Maintenance and improvement of client relationships, requiring technical competence in primary production roles and leadership competence in working with clients and mentoring team members.
- Analysis of conventional and renewable generation facilities, substations, and transmission and distribution systems, including protective relaying, short circuit and symmetrical component analysis, time-current coordination, and relay settings.
- Integration with SCADA systems, NERC compliance, and arc flash analysis.
- Proficiency in applicable software, including AcSELerator Quickset, GE Enervista, ASPEN Oneliner, SKM-PTW, ETAP, and RSCAD/RTDS.
- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (BSEE) degree.
- Five (5) or more years of industry experience performing studies in technical disciplines described in the Job Description section.
- EIT certified and eligible to sit for the P. Eng Exam.
- Registered professional engineers (P. Eng.) or equivalent.
- Power Systems focused MSEE degree.
- A proven history of completing similar projects in a consulting environment.
- Experience in mentoring others and providing technical and commercial leadership in customer-focused engineering projects.
