SUMMARY:

Support in various aspects of laboratory operations for gas and hydrocarbon liquids testing, aligned with the business requirements of the Branch and Region, and in compliance with the Company's Quality Management System.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Log and manage samples submitted for testing using the LIMS system.
  • Communicate analytical results to clients and engage with them as necessary.
  • Conduct analytical testing (GC, RVP, molecular weight, density, distillation, etc.) following standardized methodologies (GPA, ASTM) utilized by the laboratory.
  • Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment in optimal condition, performing routine maintenance as needed.
  • Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and demonstrate professionalism in all activities.
  • Perform additional tasks such as cylinder cleaning, preparation for shipping, and general laboratory housekeeping.

Carry out the above responsibilities while supporting and adhering to the Company's Safety Policy, Quality Policy, Ethics Policy, and Environmental Management System, exercising sound judgment and diplomacy.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To succeed in this role, an individual must be capable of performing each essential duty satisfactorily. The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Experience in a laboratory environment, preferably with GC instruments. A College Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Physical or Life Science is required, along with a minimum of two years of laboratory experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Proficient in writing routine reports and correspondence, and capable of effective communication in group settings.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and interpret technical reports related to chemicals and their properties.


REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to understand and follow a variety of instructions in different formats. Attention to detail in record-keeping is essential.
