Job Description

Position Title: Quality Assurance Analyst

1.0 Reporting Structure:

This role reports to the Laboratory Manager and collaborates closely with the Laboratory Director and/or Quality Assurance Director to fulfill specific quality system requirements.

2.0 Role Overview:

The Quality Assurance Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the Laboratory Manager in upholding the policies and procedures outlined in the laboratory's Quality Assurance Program. This position is responsible for ensuring the timely completion of daily, weekly, and monthly program obligations, aiding in the preparation of control charts, procuring calibration standards, and facilitating laboratory operations that impact the Quality System, particularly the Quality Assurance System.

3.0 Essential Qualifications:

  • Possession of a B.S./B.A. degree (preferably in a scientific discipline) or a minimum of two years of experience in the petroleum sector, or at least one year of experience in Quality Assurance.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, particularly in using spreadsheet software.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and collaboratively to achieve project goals.

4.0 Physical Requirements:

Refer to the relevant sections of the Safety Manual for details regarding the physical demands associated with this position. The ability to perform all outlined tasks is a prerequisite for this job description.

5.0 Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with the Laboratory Manager to oversee and sustain the Quality Assurance schedule across all laboratories within designated areas of responsibility.
  • Maintains and updates laboratory quality documentation as necessary, ensuring that all records are accurate, complete, and compliant with established tolerances.
  • Monitors and sustains appropriate control charts in accordance with the guidelines set forth in the Laboratory Quality Program Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Documents findings and corrective measures, ensuring that any equipment identified as out of calibration is taken out of service until corrective actions are executed.
  • Conducts audits of laboratory records and personnel training documentation to ensure compliance with relevant SOPs.
  • Oversees and manages the inventory of calibration and control standards across various locations.
  • Assists the Laboratory Manager in the procurement of laboratory equipment and supplies.
  • Delivers scheduled status reports for various locations, highlighting exceptions to the quality schedule, equipment status, training status, TMA status, and the status of outstanding corrective actions.
