SUMMARY:

Support in multiple aspects of laboratory operations for gas and hydrocarbon liquids analysis in alignment with the Branch and Region's business requirements, adhering to the Company’s Quality Management System.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage sample intake by accurately logging relevant information into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Communicate analytical results to clients and provide assistance as needed.

- Conduct analytical testing (GC, RVP, molecular weight, density, distillation, etc.) following standardized methodologies (GPA, ASTM) utilized by the laboratory.

- Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment and perform routine maintenance as necessary.
- Follow laboratory safety protocols diligently.
- Uphold professionalism and adhere to the principles of scientific methodology, making decisions based on education, experience, observation, and deduction.
- Execute additional assigned tasks such as cylinder cleaning, preparation for shipping, and general laboratory upkeep.

- Carry out responsibilities in a manner that reflects support for the Company’s Safety Policy and Procedures, Quality Policy and Procedures, Ethics Policy, Environmental Management System, Vision and Strategy, while exercising good judgment and common sense.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in a laboratory environment, preferably with GC instruments.
- College Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Physical or Life Science.
- A minimum of two years of laboratory experience and/or training.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operating instructions, and procedural manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively in group settings.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

- Proficiency in basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

- Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and to interpret bar graphs. Ability to understand technical reports related to chemicals and their properties. Ability to interpret scientific formulas.

REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to interpret various instructions provided in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form. Ability to understand and meet required turnaround commitments. Attention to detail in record keeping is essential.
