Position Overview

Ares is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Analyst/Associate within the Alternative Credit Team at our New York City office. This position will focus on supporting the team’s data collection, portfolio reporting, and monitoring activities, with an emphasis on asset classes such as Rated ABS, CLOs, CMBS, and RMBS.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enhance and maintain the daily processes for sourcing, extracting, and processing INTEX and other market data from various vendors to build Ares' proprietary INSightDB.
  • Facilitate the retrieval of performance information related to portfolio holdings from multiple sources.
  • Provide analytical support to investment analysts and portfolio managers.
  • Deliver portfolio reporting materials to Investor Relations teams.
  • Enhance and further develop reporting on portfolio positions.
  • Assist the team in modeling structured securities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or international equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, financial, and communication skills.
  • 1-2 years of programming experience in the financial services sector.
  • 1+ years of finance or accounting experience, preferably with exposure to structured finance or securitization.
General Requirements
  • Proficiency in programming languages (VBA, SQL, Python) and intermediate MS Excel modeling skills (including index + match, macros, and array formulas) are advantageous.
  • Knowledge and experience in fixed income, bond mathematics, corporate debt structures, and leveraged loans are beneficial.
  • Self-motivated and driven, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate challenges in processes.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate project statuses clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated integrity and trustworthiness.
Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated base salary range for this position is between $130,000 and $175,000. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus.
