Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to fill the role of Analyst/Associate within the Alternative Credit Team at Ares Management. This position will be based in our New York City office and will focus on supporting the team’s data collection, portfolio reporting, and monitoring activities. The primary asset classes of interest include Rated ABS, CLOs, CMBS, and RMBS.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enhance and maintain the daily processes for sourcing, extracting, and processing INTEX and other market data from various vendors to develop Ares' proprietary INSightDB.
  • Facilitate the collection of portfolio performance data from multiple sources.
  • Provide analytical support to investment analysts and portfolio managers.
  • Deliver portfolio reporting to Investor Relations teams.
  • Further develop and enhance portfolio and position reporting frameworks.
  • Assist the team in modeling structured securities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or international equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and communication skills.
  • 1-2 years of programming experience in the financial services sector.
  • 1+ years of finance or accounting experience with exposure to structured finance or securitization preferred.
General Requirements
  • Proficiency in programming languages (VBA, SQL, Python) and intermediate MS Excel modeling skills (including index + match, macros, and array formulas) are advantageous.
  • Knowledge of fixed income, bond mathematics, corporate debt structures, and leveraged loans is a plus.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Creative problem solver with the capability to navigate challenges in processes.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate project statuses clearly and concisely.
  • High level of integrity and trustworthiness.
Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated base salary range for this position is between $130,000 and $175,000. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus.
