Key Responsibilities:

  • iSeries Support: Provide technical support for our iSeries applications and tape backups, working closely with our ticketing system (Service-Now) to resolve issues efficiently.
  • iSeries IPL Maintenance: Perform monthly iSeries IPL maintenance to ensure system stability and uptime.
  • Tape Management: Organize and manage all onsite and offsite tape logs, ensuring daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly compliance.
  • Offsite Tape Storage: Manage offsite tape storage with Iron Mountain, ensuring secure and reliable data storage.
  • IBM Tape Libraries and Inventory: Monitor and update IBM tape libraries and inventory, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Data Center Monitoring: Monitor and respond to data center alarms, including water detection, UPS, and fire suppression systems.

Requirements:

  • Technical Skills: IBM iSeries administration or operation experience, working with IBM Green Screen, tape library backup systems, and data restoration.
  • Help Desk Experience: Help desk level 1 experience, with ticketing system experience and ability to manage and escalate trouble tickets.
  • Inventory and Organizational Skills: Strong inventory and organizational skills, with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
