Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Carrier Development Representative to join our team at Redwood Logistics. As a key member of our Multimodal business unit, you will play a crucial role in identifying, sourcing, and developing strong business relationships with service providers to achieve maximum profitability and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Expand knowledge of the transportation industry and develop strategic carrier profiles through research and networking.
  • Build and maintain relationships with carrier partners, primarily through phone calls, targeting 80+ dials per day.
  • Negotiate freight rates with motor carriers to maximize profitability on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Coordinate available customer freight with available motor carrier equipment, utilizing Redwood's internal postings.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to motor carriers, building strong business relationships.
  • Track and monitor shipments to proactively address any issues or delays during transit.
  • Verify all freight charges, confirm receipt of Bill of Lading, and resolve payables discrepancies prior to final payment to motor carriers.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Results-driven and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible and able to change focus quickly to meet market conditions and company needs.
  • Sales, foodservice industry, or similar experience a plus.
