Job Summary

The Logistics Operations Manager supports the General Manager in ensuring the operational efforts of an individual client location under limited supervision.

This position participates in the development and implementation of location policies and procedures. The Logistics Operations Manager conducts operational analyses and audits current procedures to monitor and improve efficiency and client satisfaction.

This role will spend most of its time in the warehouse maximizing performance at the site.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Oversight of daily operations and ensuring daily objectives are met.
  2. Act as the location's point of contact in the absence of the General Manager.
  3. Implement Lean Six Sigma throughout the warehouse.
  4. Enforce company compliance standards.
  5. Ensure planning and scheduling of distribution services are executed in a timely manner.
  6. Manage and perform activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking transportation.
  7. Support an environment that fosters open and positive team communication.
  8. Partners with vendors and service providers to serve company locations.
  9. Build a strong rapport with service providers and clients.
  10. Communicate daily/shift goals of the facility and groups; devise, communicate, and implement plans to obtain operational goals; work with and motivate employees to ensure goal achievement; provide progress or constraint updates to management and implement corrective measures as needed.
  11. Enforce location safety management plans.
  12. Delegate and appoint work among the team.
  13. Manage a team of up to 4 direct reports (punctuality, performance, PTO, discipline, coaching, etc.).
  14. Interview, train, select employees.
  15. Determine pay and hours of work.
  16. Make independent discretion and judgment.
  17. Manage logistics services.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned.
Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $85,000 - $115,000 per year, depending on experience.

Requirements
  1. Bachelor's Degree or comparable work experience.
  2. Two years or more of problem-solving skills experience, use of formal Root Cause Countermeasure, and warehouse experience.
  3. Must have people management experience and experience with independent contractors.
  4. Ability to prioritize and organize work, along with a strong follow-up, analytical, problem-solving, and sound decision-making skills.
  5. Ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written forms with customers, employees, peers, and management.
  6. Create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, workgroups, customers, supervisors).
  7. Work self-directed with minimal supervision.
  8. Work independently and as a member of a team.
  9. Flexibility to operate, and self-driven to excel, in a fast-paced environment.
  10. Capability to multi-task and highly organized with excellent time management skills.
  11. Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up practices.
  12. Intermediate computer skills.
  13. Exposure to Lean principles, systems, and tools (beginner level).
