Position Summary: This role requires a proactive leader responsible for the strategic planning, organization, and management of the Information Systems and Facility Maintenance departments. The position involves addressing intricate organizational and technological challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Information Technology Management

  • Oversee the operations of the Information Systems Department, including IT and telecommunications.
  • Design, implement, and assess information technology initiatives based on comprehensive systems analysis.
  • Establish guidelines for the acquisition, installation, and maintenance of computer systems and communication technologies.
  • Develop strategies for both Internet and Intranet use, as well as internal communication frameworks.
  • Collaborate with management and departmental leaders to identify technology and communication requirements.
  • Ensure alignment of IT with the facility's operational needs, including Electronic Health Records (EHR) and educational programs for staff.
  • Stay informed about current trends, technologies, regulations, and standards in healthcare IT.
  • Demonstrate expertise in software, hardware, and data networking.
  • Manage all IT projects, including design, planning, specifications, and reporting.
  • Provide regular updates to management and relevant committees regarding the Information Systems Department's activities.
  • Participate in administrative and quality assurance meetings.

Facility Maintenance Oversight

  • Possess a solid understanding of relevant regulations and requirements related to facility management and emergency protocols.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive maintenance program, including cost monitoring and supplier negotiations.
  • Experience in managing building projects, including expansions and renovations, along with associated budgets and timelines.
  • Conduct daily inspections of grounds and common areas.
  • Diagnose and resolve repair issues effectively.
  • Supervise inspections of fire protection systems as mandated by regulations.
  • Maintain all maintenance logs and communicate any issues to management.
  • Coordinate with external repair vendors and construction services as needed.
  • Train and evaluate the performance of maintenance staff annually.
  • Collaborate with contractors and vendors to ensure optimal operational efficiency.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Physical Requirements: This position necessitates regular communication, frequent standing and walking, and the ability to use hands for various tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certification.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in data processing, systems analysis, computer operations, project management, and supervision.

Essential Skills and Certifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of IT applications utilized in the healthcare sector.
  • Familiarity with computer center operations and systems analysis.
  • Comprehensive understanding of HIPAA regulations and privacy requirements.
  • Current membership in the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) is preferred.
