JOB SUMMARY

Outside Equipment Sales Representative


Capital Pump & Equipment is a rapidly expanding pump rental company seeking an Outside Equipment Sales Representative. This role allows you to:

  • Utilize your cold calling and closing expertise to enhance an existing portfolio in a high-demand market.
  • Develop skills for career advancement in sales or operational management.
  • Work alongside an exceptional team that goes the extra mile for customers.

As an Outside Sales Representative, you will be responsible for generating profitable business from the diverse range of equipment your profit center specializes in. This involves developing your assigned territory, executing sales strategies to grow the business, and maintaining the current customer base while helping to establish the Capital Pump & Equipment brand identity.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Maintain and grow the existing customer base through continued sales efforts.
  • Develop the assigned territory, implement sales strategies, and sustain the current customer relationships.
  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities within the designated market area.
  • Manage the sales and marketing of rental and purchase equipment.
  • Source new business opportunities, establish new accounts, and nurture existing ones.
  • Prepare and present sales contracts and lease agreements.
  • Compile sales plans, reports, expenses, and daily activity logs.
  • Formulate bids for new and ongoing projects.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • High School diploma required; Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial, industrial, or municipal equipment rental and service, with at least 2 years in a management role.
  • Valid Driver's License is mandatory.
  • Standard work hours are weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with additional hours as needed based on customer requirements.
  • Proficient computer skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in leading a team to complete departmental projects is required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills are necessary.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to assigned branches.
  • Detail-oriented and organized approach is crucial.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

The physical demands of this role include bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, and lifting 50 pounds or more, with the requirement to work indoors and outdoors as necessary.
