General Responsibilities

The Head of Strategic Sourcing will oversee our procurement, sourcing analytics, and purchasing initiatives, emphasizing data-driven strategies and insights.

This role will utilize advanced analytics tools to refine procurement processes, uncover cost-saving measures, enhance supplier performance, and align with our strategic objectives. Your contributions will be vital in fostering efficiency, transparency, and innovation within our procurement framework, ultimately supporting the growth and success of L&S Mechanical.


Key Responsibilities:

Data Analysis and Insights:
  • Employ analytics tools to scrutinize procurement data, discern trends, and derive actionable insights.
  • Create key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess procurement effectiveness and monitor progress towards strategic goals.

Strategic Procurement Planning:
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to formulate and execute strategic procurement plans that align with business objectives and enhance value.
  • Leverage data analysis to pinpoint strategic sourcing opportunities, evaluate market dynamics, and mitigate supply chain risks.

Vendor Performance Management:
  • Establish performance metrics to assess vendor effectiveness and identify areas for enhancement.
  • Conduct supplier evaluations and utilize data insights to negotiate advantageous terms and foster continuous improvement.

Cost Optimization and Budget Management:
  • Examine procurement expenditure data to uncover cost-saving opportunities and optimize purchasing strategies.
  • Oversee the procurement budget, monitor expenditures against budgetary targets, and implement cost-control measures as necessary.
  • Document all negotiated vendor discounts and rebate agreements.

Process Optimization:
  • Identify inefficiencies within the procurement process and propose improvements and automation solutions to enhance operations.
  • Utilize data analytics to refine inventory management, demand forecasting, and order fulfillment processes.

Risk Management and Compliance:
  • Employ data analysis to identify and mitigate procurement risks, including supply chain disruptions and compliance challenges.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to protect the organization’s interests and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.

Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead and mentor the procurement team, cultivating a culture of data-driven decision-making and ongoing professional development.
  • Guide team members in utilizing analytics tools to enhance performance and achieve departmental objectives.

Qualifications
  • Significant experience in procurement or supply chain management, demonstrating a successful track record of leveraging data analytics for strategic decision-making.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage supplier relationships.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and proficiency in data analysis tools and procurement software.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to creatively solve complex business challenges.
  • Leadership experience, with a proven ability to motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in business analytics, supply chain management, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications are preferred.
