Position Overview:

The College of Southern Maryland (CSM) is in search of a Director of Development for its foundation, tasked with the creation and execution of fundraising initiatives, managing donor relations, and supervising foundation activities. This role is accountable to the CSM President and necessitates a Bachelor's degree alongside 7 years of experience in pertinent sectors. The preferred candidate will exhibit exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship management abilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate and execute fundraising strategies that are in harmony with the college's overarching objectives
  • Engage and nurture relationships with major gift prospects and contributors
  • Oversee foundation personnel and manage budgetary and financial reporting
  • Establish connections with community influencers and amplify college presence
  • Support college advocacy initiatives and represent the institution at various functions
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
  • At least 7 years of experience in fundraising or similar fields
  • Financial disclosure is mandatory
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and strategic planning capabilities
  • Familiarity with fundraising software and Microsoft Office Suite
