Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate and enhance procurement strategies for direct commodities while optimizing strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Lead category assessment and strategy formulation through data-driven insights in a manufacturing context.
  • Support purchasing decisions and business needs evaluations to align with the overarching procurement strategy.
  • Engage in the capital procurement process for site-specific capital initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for supplier consolidation to achieve the most competitive material costs, factoring in safety, quality, sustainability, reliability, and urgency.
  • Reduce supply chain risks by establishing alternative suppliers for critical expenditure categories.
  • Negotiate and manage sourcing agreements with suppliers.
  • Address supplier-related issues concerning quality, delivery, and pricing.
  • Proactively identify and spearhead cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Oversee RFQ & RFP processes, including supplier interviews, source recommendations, and quotation analysis to prepare informed recommendations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field
  • A minimum of 7 years of direct procurement experience with a focus on commodity management preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, JD Edwards, etc.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Capability to plan and prioritize a diverse range of tasks
