Position Overview

V2X is seeking a highly skilled individual for the role of Senior Construction Manager. The role involves reviewing shop drawings and submittals, providing recommendations for approval or disapproval to the Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR), and notifying relevant parties of any safety hazards that do not meet compliance standards, along with suggested corrective measures.

The Senior Construction Manager will verify that all identified corrections and actions have been completed and will participate in project meetings. It is important to note that this role does not have the authority to alter project scope, costs, duration, or schedules, nor does it obligate the organization in any manner. The manager will oversee project design and construction efforts, including daily project management, budget oversight, and schedule adherence. This includes evaluating contractor performance and ensuring effective integration and coordination with field personnel.

In addition, the Senior Construction Manager will assess, validate, and manage project change requests and provide official weekly status updates. Effective communication with customers, management, integrated project teams, and stakeholders is essential, as is assisting the client's Contracting Officer and COTR with acquisition planning, execution, and administration.

The responsibilities also include conducting pre-bid and pre-construction site visits, providing necessary documentation for invoice processing, and preparing and monitoring project schedules and budgets. The manager will offer technical guidance on contracting and construction-related matters, direct design efforts, and recommend construction documents for approval. The focus will be on optimizing performance, cost, and schedule to ensure project objectives are met efficiently.

Furthermore, the Senior Construction Manager will conduct design reviews with clients, ensuring timely input of all data and documentation into the project management tool. This requirement is applicable to all projects, work orders, and tasks throughout the project lifecycle. The role also encompasses ensuring the integration of all systems, including IT, security, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing.

Qualifications

  • Education / Certifications: Bachelor's degree in any field; a high school diploma or equivalent with five years of relevant experience may be considered.
  • Experience: A minimum of ten years in construction management, with experience in applying building codes and ADA requirements.
  • Working Environment: U.S. citizenship is required, and candidates must be prepared to work in operationally sensitive environments, including outdoor and confined spaces.
