Senior Credit Officer Job Description

HomeTrust Bank is seeking a highly skilled Senior Credit Officer to join our team. As a Senior Credit Officer, you will play a critical role in meeting the bank's loan growth objectives while maintaining a strong risk management culture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Make informed decisions on commercial banking credits and advance credits, leveraging your expertise to drive business growth.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Credit Officer, Director of Commercial Credit, and Portfolio Managers to optimize the credit process and ensure efficient loan origination.
  • Develop strong relationships with Relationship Managers to drive business development and loan growth in assigned markets.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments of commercial loan requests, analyzing the borrower's business, management, industry, and financial condition.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to credit support personnel and Relationship Managers on risk management best practices.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of banking experience, including 10+ years in commercial credit underwriting with signature loan approval experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and listening skills.
  • Strong credit skills across all areas of commercial lending, including commercial real estate, construction loans, letter of credit issuances, and other fund accounting related credit requests.
