Patient Access Representative

About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Patient Access Representative to join our team. As a Patient Access Representative, you will be responsible for performing registration and obtaining information about demographics, insurance, medical, and financial. You will also be responsible for cross-training to staff all areas of patient access, such as front desk, admitting office, ED, and cash register.
Key Responsibilities- Perform registration and obtain information about demographics, insurance, medical, and financial
- Cross-train to staff all areas of patient access, such as front desk, admitting office, ED, and cash register
- Function as a Super User and act as a resource for training of new caregivers
- Provide registration and cash collection access in Epic
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- High school diploma or GED and two years of experience in a customer-facing role OR an associate's degree and one year of experience OR a bachelor's degree
- Knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to understand physician orders OR completion of course within one year
- Basic PC software application knowledge and ability to use multiple data systems
We prefer candidates with knowledge of medical terminology and experience working in a healthcare setting.
Physical RequirementsThis role requires:
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
- Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
- Ability to work with physical records or operate a computer or other office equipment
We follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
