Job Title: Clinical Dietitian

Geisinger Health System is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Dietitian to join our team. As a Clinical Dietitian, you will play a critical role in providing safe, competent, and evidence-based nutritional therapy to our patients.

Job Summary

As a Clinical Dietitian, you will be responsible for assessing individual needs, developing personalized nutrition plans, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care. You will also be involved in education and research activities to promote healthy eating habits and improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess individual needs through synthesis of information obtained through assessment interviews, food and nutrition histories, and review of medical records.
  • Develop personalized nutrition plans, including recommendations for diet and meal patterns, supplements, and parenteral and enteral feedings.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop goals related to patient care.
  • Plan and coordinate the use of special dietary regimens.
  • Evaluate nutritional status and make recommendations for optimal care.
  • Counsel individuals, families, and caregivers on normal nutrition and therapeutic diets.
  • Plan and conduct group classes on nutrition-related topics.
  • Participate in food and nutrition research to demonstrate outcomes and develop policy recommendations.
  • Consult, educate, and advocate on behalf of individuals and groups regarding food, nutrition, and health issues.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or related field.
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
