Job Summary

Geisinger Health System is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Dietitian to join our team. As a Clinical Dietitian, you will provide safe, ethical, and competent evidence-based nutritional therapy to patients in our inpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess individual nutritional needs through synthesis of information obtained through assessment interviews, food and nutrition histories, and review of medical records.
  • Develop and implement plans to meet assessed needs, including recommendations for diet and meal patterns, supplements, and parenteral and enteral feedings.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop goals related to patient care.
  • Evaluate nutritional status and make recommendations for optimal care.
  • Counsel individuals, families, and caregivers on normal nutrition and therapeutic diets, taking into account educational, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Plan and conduct group classes on various nutrition topics as needed.
  • Write nutrition-related orders for hospitalized patients in accordance with Clinical Nutrition policy.
  • Consult, educate, and advocate on behalf of individuals, groups, and special populations regarding food, culinary, nutrition, and health issues.
  • Contribute to and design referral processes and systems to facilitate public access to Registered Dietitians.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or related field.
  • Pennsylvania Registered Dietitian License required.
  • Eligibility to sit for registration through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or qualify under a reciprocity agreement with CDR in conjunction with The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND).
