Job Overview and Responsibilities
THIS POSITION MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR A HYBRID WORK SCHEDULE. THE AMOUNT OF TELEWORK IS AT THE DISCRETION OF THE DEPARTMENT AND IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE AS BUSINESS NEEDS ARISE.
Under the supervision of the Section Chief, a Tax Administrator (TA) II, the TA I plays a crucial role in the comprehensive management, accuracy, and upkeep of the collection program. Key responsibilities encompass planning, organizing, directing, reviewing, and assessing the operations and activities of personnel involved in the collection of overdue forms, payroll taxes, and extensive compliance initiatives. The incumbent will also aid the Division's mission to effectively manage the Accounts Receivable workloads to achieve specified objectives, while balancing the requirements of both internal and external stakeholders, staff resources, and workload priorities. The TA I supports the Section Chief with a variety of essential functions, workloads, and processes; and actively engages as a leader and contributing member of the Collection Division management team for strategizing, organizing, and executing decision-making processes. The incumbent facilitates extensive case management activities, report preparation, statistical data comparison and analysis, along with a diverse range of administrative tasks. Furthermore, the TA I collaborates with other members of the Section's management team and other divisions, providing guidance to staff to ensure effective coordination of all compliance work activities. The incumbent applies provisions of the Unemployment Insurance Code (UIC), Civil Code, and other regulations, policies, and procedures in the course of managing staff resources, workloads, and processes.
