Job Summary

The Tax Administrator I is a critical role within the Employment Development Department, responsible for the overall administration, integrity, and maintenance of the collection program. This position requires a high level of organizational and analytical skills, as well as excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, direct, review, and evaluate the operations and activities of staff engaged in the collection of delinquent forms, payroll taxes, and broad compliance activities.
  • Support the Division's mission to progressively manage the Accounts Receivable workloads to meet stated goals, while balancing the needs of internal and external customers, staff resources, and workload priorities.
  • Assist the Section Chief with critical functions, workloads, and processes, and actively participate as a leader and contributing member of the Collection Division management team for planning, organizing, and implementing decision-making processes.
  • Facilitate broad case management activities, report preparation, statistical data comparison and analysis, and a wide variety of administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Section's management team, as well as other divisions, to ensure effective coordination of all compliance work activities.
Requirements
  • Apply provisions of the Unemployment Insurance Code (UIC), Civil Code, and other regulations, policies, and procedures in the course of managing staff resources, workloads, and processes.
  • Occasional travel is required for training or meetings, which may require overnight stays.
