The Transit Authority of Lexington-Faye seeks a highly skilled Maintenance Shift Supervisor to oversee the daily work required to maintain the fleet of revenue and non-revenue vehicles for the transit system. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the fleet, while meeting or exceeding all city, state, regional, and federal guidelines and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee shop performance and productivity to ensure efficient use of resources.
- Review Pre-Trip Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports to develop work orders and address any defects.
- Compile and complete work orders to effectively and safely schedule repairs and maintenance of vehicles.
- Assign work tasks and work orders to Mechanics, Service Workers, and Utility Workers.
- Monitor, record, and report daily issues as reported from the Operations department.
- Respond to road calls and minimize delays in service.
- Ensure that all needed vehicles are ready for service.
- Ensure repairs are completed safely and in a timely manner.
- Ensure vehicles are cleaned and fueled.
- Ensure technology sub-systems, fareboxes, radio, Avail, cameras are functioning properly.
- Prepare available fleet report for the Operations department.
- Complete daily shift reports and ensure that the next shift is aware of any outstanding issues or priority tasks.
- Compile readings and measurements for daily reports.
- Analyze test results or report data to develop cost-reducing practices.
- Compile information to develop/maintain database used for fleet maintenance and reporting.
- Obtain parts and supplies needed to complete repair and maintenance work.
- Issue discipline and corrective action.
- Ensure safe working conditions and practices.
- Associates Degree in Business Management or Administration preferred.
- At least three (3) years supervisory experience in maintenance or public transit industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Possesses valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation.
- Obtains within three (3) months of employment and maintains a Commercial Driver License.
