We are in search of a proficient and driven Sports Talent Acquisition Manager to enhance our vibrant organization. This role will focus on sourcing, recruiting, and negotiating contracts with Talent across diverse sports sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Negotiate and facilitate the execution of agreements for both current and prospective ESPN talent across various sports divisions.
- Identify, negotiate, and cast non-ESPN talent for open positions.
- Establish and nurture relationships with Talent and other internal stakeholders to streamline the recruitment process.
- Communicate contract terms to legal and other relevant parties as necessary.
- Foster and maintain robust relationships with key stakeholders.
- Comprehend the rhythms and schedules of specific sports calendars to adequately prepare for upcoming seasons.
- Monitor Talent performance, achievements, and market value to adjust negotiation strategies effectively and seize opportunities.
- Build external networks with talent, agents, managers, and industry influencers to stay informed about the evolving landscape for talent acquisition.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the sports broadcasting industry, specifically in Talent Offices or Talent Relations. A minimum of 3 years of experience in deal negotiations is also required.
Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with a high level of trust and confidentiality.
Exceptional communication skills.
Proven ability to maintain existing relationships while developing new ones.
In-depth knowledge of sports, sports culture, and personalities within the sports and entertainment sectors.
Capability to respond swiftly and positively in various sensitive, ambiguous, and dynamic production scenarios.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in managing and overseeing Talent.
- Proven expertise in managing departmental databases.
Key Competencies:
- Professional and diplomatic in interactions with both internal and external personalities.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Self-motivated.
- Team-oriented with a collaborative spirit.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to evaluate on-air Talent.
Education:
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience is required.
The compensation for this position will be determined based on internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's knowledge, skills, and experience.
A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be included as part of the overall compensation package, alongside a comprehensive range of medical, financial, and other benefits, depending on the level and position offered.
