The Manager of Financial Accounting plays a crucial role in overseeing financial reporting, management analysis, and fixed asset management. This position is responsible for generating monthly financial statements, conducting bank reconciliations, and managing accrual accounting for a prominent commercial construction firm.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the creation of the monthly financial reporting package, manage the month-end closing process, and ensure accurate general ledger account reconciliations. Prepare necessary journal entries as required.

- Lead the preparation of the annual audited financial report, including related footnotes and supplementary schedules. Act as the primary liaison with external auditors and prepare relevant PBC schedules.

- Supervise the preparation of various state and local sales and B&O tax returns.

- Manage fixed asset schedules, depreciation entries, property tax returns, and various governmental reporting schedules, along with other miscellaneous monthly responsibilities.

- Maintain and customize accounting system reports as necessary.

- Experience in a General Contractor or Subcontractor environment is preferred.

- Prepare and analyze consolidated Work in Progress (WIP) reports for Cost and Percentage of Completion (POC) Revenue.

    • Manage cost reporting and profitability monitoring for projects.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance departmental workflow.
Qualifications for Success

- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the accounting field, with a degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance preferred.

- Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or MBA are highly regarded.
