Anatomic Pathology Operations Coordinator
The Anatomic Pathology Operations Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the provision of high-quality services for the Gross Room(s) and Autopsy Services within the Northwestern Memorial Healthcare framework. This position requires collaboration with Pathologists and various specialists to facilitate the smooth functioning of the laboratory, which includes formulating procedures, overseeing inventory management, and addressing technical and service-related challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and review quality control documentation and logs.
- Develop and revise standard operating procedures as necessary.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Coordinate the upkeep of the laboratory information management system.
- Investigate and troubleshoot technical and workflow-related issues.
- Facilitate training and competency evaluations for staff.
- Manage staffing and scheduling for section operations.
- Oversee inventory management and supply requisitions.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and suppliers.
- Support the selection, training, and supervision of staff members.
- Assist in budget formulation and expense tracking.
- Coordinate maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment.
- Engage in staff development and leadership initiatives.
Qualifications:
- General Supervisor qualification as per CLIA 88 regulations.
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Certification from a recognized Board of Registry or equivalent.
