Position Overview

The Financial Aid Office at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science is seeking candidates for a full-time Student Financial Services Advisor role. This position is tasked with overseeing all elements of financial assistance for students, which includes managing financial aid applications, maintaining student files, and providing guidance on loan options, scholarship resources, and financial management strategies.

Our comprehensive benefits package features medical, dental, and vision coverage; paid parental leave; both short-term and long-term disability insurance; life insurance; flexible spending accounts; and a 403(b) retirement plan with an 8% employer contribution after two years of employment. RFUMS prioritizes employee wellness and work-life balance, offering full-time staff three weeks of vacation, 15 sick days, and 13 holidays, in addition to two floating holidays. Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and interpret student financial aid information.
  • Provide both in-person and virtual consultations for students, parents, and other stakeholders seeking assistance with all aspects of financial aid, including application processes, eligibility criteria, disbursement, and repayment options.
  • Occasionally deliver presentations related to financial literacy, debt management, orientation, and loan exit interviews.
  • Assist students with financial matters concerning leaves of absence or program withdrawals.
  • Utilize professional judgment to support and advise students facing unique circumstances during their enrollment.
  • Process financial aid applications and related documentation.
  • Stay informed about Federal Student Aid and Department of Education policies and regulations.
  • Develop and produce financial aid materials, applications, and timelines.
  • Contribute to the formulation of financial aid policies and procedures.
  • Conduct educational sessions on financial literacy and debt management tailored to specific student populations.
  • Uphold a high standard of integrity and ethical conduct while managing confidential information.
  • Maintain effective communication with university stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience in a higher education environment.

  • Ability to develop and present financial literacy content for a diverse range of health profession programs.

  • Positive work ethic.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree.
  • Experience in higher education settings.
