Position Overview:
Become an integral part of a prestigious academic healthcare institution at The University of Chicago Medicine as a Senior Financial Planning Advisor within the Financial Reporting division. This position offers a hybrid work model, requiring occasional in-office presence based on project needs.
Role Summary:
The Senior Financial Planning Advisor will report directly to the Executive Director of Financial & Capital Planning, acting as a key resource for the Finance Department and senior leadership, including but not limited to the CFO and various Vice Presidents. This role will focus on providing insights on enterprise-wide revenue streams and assessing strategic initiatives. The advisor will also oversee the creation of financial data analytics and reporting for existing business lines and new partnerships, establishing a standardized toolkit for evaluating financial outcomes.
Additionally, the Senior Financial Planning Advisor will autonomously manage relationships and projects with subject matter experts across the organization and potential partners, including budget and accounting, strategic planning, and external consultants, to enhance decision-making and management planning capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and nurture collaborative relationships within the organization to facilitate data collection and leverage analytical outcomes for improved financial performance.
- Work alongside the Finance Department and other organizational units to define, streamline, and implement enterprise-wide reporting mechanisms.
- Oversee interactions between UCM Finance and operational units to monitor and allocate funds effectively.
- Manage analytical requests and projects from senior leadership across various departments and external partnerships.
- Coordinate with Finance and Strategic Planning teams to identify and prioritize high-value business opportunities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred, with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
- Expertise in financial statement analysis, financial modeling, and performance measurement within healthcare sectors.
- Proficient in healthcare financial data and industry business intelligence tools, applying them to financial planning and reporting.
- Comfortable presenting to and engaging with senior management.
- Aptitude for thriving in a dynamic, matrixed environment with tight deadlines and multiple stakeholders.
- Demonstrated skills throughout the financial project lifecycle, including effective communication, data source identification, impactful analysis, and visualization of results.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in healthcare analysis and pro forma development.
- Familiarity with healthcare operations and reimbursement methodologies.
- Ability to collaborate with operational leaders to identify necessary data for analysis.
