Blue Origin - Rocket Propulsion Systems Specialist Job Description

Blue Origin is a pioneering company that aims to revolutionize space travel. We are seeking a Rocket Propulsion Systems Specialist to join our team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge rocket engines and propulsion systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in system design and development throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring seamless integration of rocket propulsion systems.
  • Manage and allocate requirements & interfaces, fostering effective collaboration among cross-functional teams.
  • Implement systems engineering activities, leveraging expertise in rocket propulsion systems to drive innovation.
  • Coordinate System Safety products for engines, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Review verification records and ensure accuracy, maintaining the highest level of quality in rocket propulsion systems.
  • Track and report on system metrics, providing data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
  • Support engine level trade studies, analyzing complex data to optimize rocket propulsion system performance.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • B.S. degree in engineering or a technical field, with a strong foundation in rocket propulsion systems.
    • 5+ years of system development/integration experience, with a proven track record in rocket propulsion systems.
    • Knowledge of systems engineering tools and methodologies, with expertise in rocket propulsion systems.
    • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams.
    • Experience with systems engineering tools and collaboration platforms, with a focus on rocket propulsion systems.
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, with a valid security clearance.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Experience with liquid rocket engines or propulsion, with a deep understanding of rocket propulsion systems.
      • Reliability, maintainability and supportability analysis experience, with a focus on rocket propulsion systems.
      • System Safety analysis experience, with expertise in rocket propulsion systems.
      • Basic project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
      • Configuration management experience, with a focus on rocket propulsion systems.
      • Experience with failure investigations, with a focus on rocket propulsion systems.
      • Experience supporting proposals, with a focus on rocket propulsion systems.
