Responsibilities

As a Property Claims Specialist, you will utilize your expertise to manage accidental and weather-related claims for both residential and commercial properties.

Your role will involve being the primary contact for insured clients, clarifying coverage details, estimating damages, and guiding them through the claims process while delivering outstanding service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform on-site evaluations and inspections of property damages for various claims
  • Collaborate with policyholders, insurance agents, and other stakeholders to gather information and resolve claims efficiently
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the claims process, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly
  • Document findings and prepare comprehensive reports to support the claims process
  • Investigate and adjust property claims with exposures up to $500,000
  • Assess coverage and policy terms to determine claim validity and ensure compliance with regulations
  • Negotiate and settle claims within authorized limits, adhering to policy provisions and company guidelines
  • Flexibility to work in the field and remotely, with potential travel to assist in other territories as needed
  • Adapt to changing hours of operation based on business needs


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience as a Property Claims Specialist in the insurance sector
  • Strong understanding of property insurance policies and claims handling practices
  • Knowledge of residential and commercial construction
  • Familiarity with local regulations in Kentucky
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and stakeholders
  • Ability to assess damages and negotiate settlements
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Proficient in claims management software

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, climbing, and navigating various inspection environments
  • Valid driver's license required

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with complex or high-value claims
  • Background in construction
  • Familiarity with water mitigation inspections
  • Proficiency in Xactimate and XactContents
