In your role as a Lead AI Research Scientist, you will be instrumental in defining the trajectory of AI at Oracle, particularly in the realms of Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI. Your expertise will be crucial in delivering cutting-edge Generative AI solutions tailored for healthcare and enterprise clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with product management to convert business and product needs into actionable AI initiatives.
  • Partner with technical leaders to ensure timely and successful delivery of AI models and service integrations.
  • Coordinate with global teams to transition projects from research proof-of-concept to full-scale production.
  • Innovate new services and features for healthcare and enterprise applications utilizing advancements in generative AI, machine learning, and deep learning.
  • Design and evaluate the architecture of AI solutions, focusing on data management, model training, and performance assessment, while adhering to industry best practices.
  • Mentor and guide both junior and senior scientists in their professional development.
  • Write production-level code and champion superior coding and engineering standards.
  • Engage in project planning, reviews, and retrospective discussions.
  • Identify potential risks in project execution, particularly at the intersection of business and technology.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven track record in designing and deploying scalable AI models for production environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of Machine Learning and Deep Learning frameworks, including Transformers, training methodologies, and optimization techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with contemporary LLM technologies and methodologies, such as parameter-efficient fine-tuning and advanced prompt engineering.
  • Experience with emerging LLM frameworks and tools, including LangChain, LlamaIndex, and MLFlow.
  • Demonstrated ability to create data collection and evaluation systems essential for maintaining production AI systems.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and applying the latest academic research to solve real-world business challenges.
  • Strong publication history in reputable journals or conferences, with experience as a lead author or reviewer.
  • Experience in leading teams of scientists, including both seasoned professionals and early-career researchers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with healthcare AI applications is highly desirable.
  • Experience with recent advancements in computer vision and multimodal modeling is advantageous.

Education:

  • PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Linguistics, or a related discipline with a focus on Machine Learning and Deep Learning, with 2+ years of relevant experience preferred; or
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience.
