Restaurant Operations Manager

The Restaurant Manager will play a key role in ensuring the success of Union Square Cafe by leading the dining room team and driving service excellence. This individual will work closely with the leadership team to set standards and practices, educate and support the service team, and create a positive work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Culture Development: Cultivate a culture of excellence and hospitality that supports business objectives and growth.
- Dining Room Operations: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the dining room, ensuring that all staff is properly acquainted with procedures and protocols.
- Team Management: Foster positive working relationships with kitchen leaders and line staff, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Service Support: Continuously provide support to all service staff and actively participate in the cycle of service as needed.
- Beverage Management: Work with beverage management to conduct, reconcile, and submit month-end beverage inventory.
- HR Compliance: Ensure that the restaurant is compliant with all HR practices and policies, holding employees accountable to standards and practices.
- Payroll and Compliance: Ensure that the payroll process is completed accurately, on time, and according to business/accounting procedures.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that the restaurant is compliant with all regulatory requirements, including DOL and Health Department regulations.
- Employee Development: Provide feedback and guidance to employees, ensuring that they have a pathway for growth and development.
- Talent Acquisition: Consistently look for internal and external opportunities to build the growing team.
- 2+ years of experience in dining room management, preferably in a fine dining environment.
- Excellent food and beverage knowledge.
- Strong passion for and skill in education and training.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Preferred Bachelor's Degree or Certification in Hospitality-related field or equivalent expertise gained from time on the job.
- English fluency and Spanish preferred.
- Annual salary of $70,000, plus bonus potential.
