Position Overview:

The Production Operations Director at Veritas Steel LLC is tasked with the safe and efficient management of various departments across shifts. This role emphasizes operational excellence and a commitment to continuous improvement while maintaining a strategic focus. The Production Operations Director will navigate complex workflows, prioritizing throughput and efficiency. They are expected to be an inspiring motivator and effective team leader, fostering a positive environment while striving for the highest standards through proficient leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees designated departments within the facility, ensuring all tasks are executed effectively.
  • Maintains cleanliness, implements 5S practices, and drives continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborates closely with the Production Scheduler to grasp production needs and provides timely feedback on identified gaps.
  • Ensures teams adhere to established fabrication plans and contributes to enhancing work efficiency.
  • Plans work effectively and manages labor resources to guarantee efficient operations.
  • Implements schedules with a focus on safety, quality, timeliness, impact, and cost management.
  • Responsible for mentoring and evaluating the performance of team leads and personnel.
  • Actively involved in the recruitment, selection, training, and coaching of new employees.
  • Provides guidance, supervises effectively, and offers performance counseling and training as needed.
  • Initiates disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Works alongside Human Resources to ensure compliance with company policies and communicates these policies to production teams.
  • Collaborates with Human Resources to address and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Keeps accurate documentation for all projects within assigned areas.
  • Engages with employees regularly, encouraging their input in problem-solving processes.
  • Participates actively in safety programs, monitoring and correcting unsafe behaviors.
  • Ensures adherence to EHS policies and guidelines within the department.
  • Coaches and monitors employees' performance regarding safety initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Knowledge of operational effectiveness and management principles.
  • Familiarity with business and financial concepts.
  • Exceptional communication skills and leadership capabilities.
  • Highly organized and analytical mindset.
  • Outstanding organizational skills are essential.
