Position Overview:
As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for the assembly and maintenance of our high-end analytical instruments. Your role will encompass mechanical and electrical assembly, rigorous system testing, inventory management, and shipping & receiving tasks. Additionally, you will collaborate with our engineering team on the development and testing of innovative R&D systems aimed at future projects.

Essential Skills:
Proficiency in mechanical and electrical systems is essential for this role. Familiarity with computer systems and software applications is also required. Your responsibilities will include the assembly of intricate mechanical systems, electrical wiring of sensitive electronics, and the testing of various instruments and components. Experience in manual assembly, soldering, basic electronic board rework, crimping connectors, and electrical testing is mandatory. Knowledge of programming languages is advantageous but not essential.

Team Dynamics:
Given the compact nature of our team, the ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and maintain a high level of organization is crucial.

Work Environment:
This is a full-time position requiring physical presence at our facility, with no option for remote work.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or R&D setting.
  • Proficient with hand tools for mechanical assembly.
  • Experienced with electrical testing equipment.
  • Familiar with word processing, spreadsheet, and other standard computer applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to communicate effectively with local vendors for parts procurement.
  • Fluent communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Educational background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience in the Aerospace sector is an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hand-assemble complex small-scale electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Oversee daily production activities to ensure timely product delivery.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of parts and collaborate with purchasing personnel.
  • Assist engineers in the assembly and testing of prototypes.
  • Provide regular feedback to lead engineers regarding production progress.
  • Keep the assembly area well-organized.
  • Contribute to documentation efforts.

Physical Requirements:
  • Perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Engage in electronics and mechanical workbench activities.
  • Execute high-precision manual tasks requiring excellent hand-eye coordination and vision.
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach, or work above shoulder height.
