Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Representative to join our team at Brookdale Senior Living. As a Sales Representative, you will be responsible for promoting our senior living communities and services to potential residents and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead Generation and Follow-up: Identify and follow up on leads from various sources, including software databases and referrals from current residents and staff. Use your sales and communication skills to build relationships with potential residents and their families, and encourage them to visit our communities.
  2. Community Promotion and Sales: Effectively promote and explain the benefits of our senior living communities and services to potential residents and their families. Communicate sales and contractual information, and close contract sales to maintain and improve occupancy levels.
  3. Resident Engagement and Referrals: Build positive relationships with current residents and their families, and encourage them to promote our communities to their friends, acquaintances, and family members. Identify and cultivate leads with current residents through positive interaction and interest in their activities and concerns.
  4. Event Planning and Execution: Assist in planning, sponsoring, organizing, and executing special events to inform and attract referrals and prospects to visit our communities. Present and demonstrate the value and benefits of our communities to stimulate interest and sales.
  5. Competitor Analysis and Market Research: Obtain and maintain knowledge of competitors, and communicate community features to best compete with competitor's strengths and weaknesses.
  6. Tour and Meeting Coordination: Conduct personal tours of our communities for prospective residents and family members, and schedule meetings with staff department heads as requested or as deemed necessary to effectively convince potential residents of our abilities to meet their residential and care needs.
  7. Contractual Arrangements and Move-ins: Explain fee structure and physical and financial assessment processes to prospects, and coordinate required staff interviews and credit checks. Close contractual arrangements, communicate availability of units and status of waiting lists, and obtain necessary personal information and prepare standard, legal documents required for signature.
  8. Reporting and Communication: Prepare written reports and communicate status of current success in a clear and concise manner.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in coursework and related experience.
  • Minimum of five years of progressive experience in the real estate or health care field, including experience in promotion, public relations, or admissions.
  • Prior experience selling or promoting senior residential and health care services is highly preferred.
  • Reliable car transportation with insurance, plus a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to possess extensive knowledge of a distinct skill or function and a thorough understanding of the organization and work environment.
  • Ability to relate positively with networking sources and provide solutions to perceived needs for their referrals.
  • Ability to explain complex alternative contractual arrangements in a clear, concise and patient manner to prospective residents.
  • Flexibility to adjust hours of work to the needs of potential residents and referral sources.
  • Ability to develop work schedules, work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to handle multiple interruptions to schedules to meet the needs of potential residents and families.
  • Knowledge of marketing software and the ability to accurately and efficiently maintain lists, reports etc. for effective follow-up use by self and others.
