Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Medical City Dallas. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for performing phlebotomy procedures to obtain specimens for laboratory testing. You will greet patients, instruct them in proper specimen collection methods, and draw blood specimens from patients using finger sticks, heel sticks, or venipunctures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform phlebotomy procedures to obtain specimens for laboratory testing
  • Transport, process, and perform clerical duties as necessary for testing on patient samples
  • Label specimens for identification purposes accurately and enter specimen data into the computer
  • Prepare samples for microbiology, hematology, serology, blood bank, and urinalysis departments
  • Assist with clerical duties by answering telephone calls
Requirements:
  • HR diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience required or Certification through a clinical phlebotomy program may be considered in lieu of experience
  • Acute care hospital experience is strongly preferred
  • Skilled phlebotomy technique; BLS within 30 days of hire
