Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operating Room Nurse to join our team at WMCHealth. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will be responsible for providing safe and individualized nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify their physical, emotional, and psychological needs. Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Medication Administration: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
  • Wound Care: Provide wound care and dressing changes as needed, promoting optimal healing and preventing complications.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination and patient satisfaction.
  • Education and Training: Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and advancements in perioperative nursing.

Requirements:

  • Licensure and Certifications: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of New York and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Experience: 2 years of acute care experience, with recent surgical experience preferred.
  • Training/License: Basic knowledge of nursing theory and practice, with strong clinical skills and valid NYS RN license.
  • Other: BLS certification and AORN certification desirable. Flexibility to be assigned to Health Alliance facilities as needed.
