Job Overview

Position Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Employment Type: Full-Time


Key Responsibilities:

  • Administers and evaluates therapeutic interventions as per the established care plan, encompassing both standard and intensive treatments along with diagnostic assessments.
  • Employs a variety of oxygen delivery systems and therapeutic gas apparatus, including masks, tents, and incubators.
  • Dispenses prescribed medicinal gases and aerosolized medications.
  • Conducts measurements of ventilatory volumes, pressures, and performs blood gas evaluations.
  • Observes, documents, and communicates patient status and their response to treatments.
  • Handles various tasks related to the setup, operation, sanitation, and storage of respiratory therapy devices.
  • Responds promptly to emergency medical situations.
  • Provides education to patients and their families, offering insights into community support resources and available programs.
  • Delivers care that is appropriate for different age groups and cultural backgrounds.
  • Mentors and trains new personnel.
  • Adheres to Standard Precautions, utilizing personal protective equipment as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of an active Florida RRT License is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 3 years of acute care experience in a NICU setting is essential, with a requirement for Level 3 NICU expertise.
  • Experience requiring RRT is necessary, though consideration may be given to CRT candidates with relevant experience.
  • BLS certification is required; ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP certifications must be obtained within three months of employment.

Compensation:

Salary range is competitive based on experience and qualifications.

Sign-On Bonus: Available on a case-by-case basis.

Relocation Assistance: Offered on a case-by-case basis.

Shift Differentials: Additional compensation for third shift and weekend work.
