Overview:

The Advanced Registered Respiratory Therapist is essential in delivering high-quality respiratory services in critical care settings. This role requires a deep understanding of both adult and neonatal respiratory care, ensuring the provision of effective therapies and clinical assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate documentation of care practices and quality metrics.
  • Oversee the maintenance and troubleshooting of respiratory equipment.
  • Uphold a safe working environment while ensuring proper billing for services rendered.
  • Prepare comprehensive patient care reports and adhere to medication safety protocols.
  • Respond swiftly to emergency situations and lead during critical incidents.
  • Execute a variety of respiratory procedures and therapies as necessary.
  • Engage in educational initiatives and departmental activities.
  • Provide mentorship to new team members and support their professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Care program.
  • Possession of a current Registered Respiratory Therapist license.
  • Valid certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in an Intensive Care Unit.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capability to endure extended shifts, assist patients, and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Ability to manage biohazardous materials and other potential hazards.
  • Professional demeanor, attire, and conduct are mandatory.

Mental Requirements:

  • Strong decision-making skills in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies.

Competency Evaluation:

  • Annual demonstration of proficiency in essential competencies.

This position merges clinical expertise with a commitment to compassionate care, ensuring that patients receive outstanding respiratory support at Health First.
