Position Overview:

The Advanced Registered Respiratory Therapist is responsible for delivering high-quality respiratory care in critical settings, showcasing proficiency in both adult and neonatal patient management. This role involves executing respiratory therapies, making informed clinical decisions, and proposing effective treatment strategies. The therapist will also serve as a valuable resource for team members, assist in onboarding new staff, and ensure that all competencies are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Document adherence to care protocols and quality benchmarks.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance and resolve technical issues.
  • Foster a safe working environment and ensure accurate billing for services rendered.
  • Compile comprehensive patient care reports and uphold medication safety standards.
  • Respond swiftly to emergency situations and take charge during critical incidents.
  • Administer various respiratory procedures and therapies as necessary.
  • Engage in staff training and departmental initiatives.
  • Guide new employees and support their professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Care program.
  • Active license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  • Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
  • A minimum of three years of clinical experience in an ICU environment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capability to work extended shifts, assist patients, and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Ability to manage biohazardous materials and other potential hazards.
  • Professional demeanor, including appropriate attire and conduct.

Mental Requirements:

  • Strong decision-making skills in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to respond rapidly to urgent scenarios.

Competency Evaluation:

  • Showcase proficiency in essential competencies on an annual basis.
