Job Overview

Position: Registered Respiratory Therapist - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Employment Type: Full-Time

The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) will be responsible for the following:

  • Administering and evaluating therapeutic interventions as outlined in the care plan, including both routine and advanced therapy as well as diagnostic evaluations.
  • Utilizing a variety of oxygen delivery systems and therapeutic gas apparatus such as masks, tents, and incubators.
  • Delivering prescribed medicinal gases and aerosolized medications accurately.
  • Conducting measurements of ventilatory volumes, pressures, and performing blood gas assessments.
  • Monitoring, documenting, and conveying patient status and treatment acceptance.
  • Handling various tasks related to the setup, operation, sanitation, and storage of respiratory therapy devices.
  • Responding promptly to emergency response calls.
  • Providing education to patients and their families, including information on community resources and support services.
  • Delivering care that is appropriate for different age groups and cultural backgrounds.
  • Guiding and mentoring new team members.
  • Adhering to Standard Precautions and utilizing personal protective equipment as necessary.

Qualifications Required:

Position: Registered Respiratory Therapist - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Employment Type: Full-Time

Candidates for the Registered Respiratory Therapist position in the NICU must fulfill the following qualifications:

  • Possession of an active RRT license in Florida is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 3 years of acute care experience in a NICU setting is essential, with a requirement for Level 3 NICU experience.
  • Experience as an RRT is required, although candidates with CRT qualifications may be considered based on their experience.
  • BLS certification is required; ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP certifications must be acquired within three months of employment.

Compensation:

Salary range is competitive and based on experience.

Sign-on bonuses and relocation assistance are available on a case-by-case basis.

Shift differentials apply for third shifts and weekends.
