We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at HCA Florida JFK North Hospital. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the well-being of our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Perform and document patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
- Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patients for therapeutic response and notify providers and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
- Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- State Registered Respiratory Therapist certification.
- Vocational School Graduate.
HCA Florida JFK North Hospital is a 280-bed acute care facility located in West Palm Beach, FL. We have a 124-bed behavioral health unit and offer a range of services, including a 24-hour Emergency Department, Advanced Primary Certified Stroke Center, Orthopedic Institute, Critical Care Unit, and Interventional Vascular Suite.
