The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $77,000/year to $95,000/year.

Full Salary Range:
The full salary range for this position is $77,000/year to $139,200/year.

Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience; the budget for the position; and the application of fair, equitable, and consistent pay practices at the University.

Working Days and Hours:
Monday - Friday 8am-5pm (+ 2 Saturdays a year)

Brief Summary of Job Duties:

Under the general supervision of the Director of Marketing & Communications, this role encompasses a broad range of communication and marketing responsibilities aligned with the mission and objectives of Housing, Dining & Auxiliary Enterprises.

This position is integral to the Marketing & Communications Team (MarCom), tasked with the development, implementation, coordination, and oversight of the division's communication and marketing strategies and initiatives.


Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience/training.


4-6 years of experience with both Mac and Microsoft platforms, utilizing Adobe Creative Suite design software (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and other graphics and web applications.

4-6 years of experience in graphic design, marketing, and/or social media management.

Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.

Knowledge of marketing principles, concepts, strategies, and best practices.


Ability to advise and consult with management to ensure effective communication to target audiences.


Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines while maintaining high quality.

Thorough knowledge of current social media platforms and strategies.

Extensive knowledge of communication principles, media, and marketing techniques.


Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite applications: Illustrator, Photoshop & Premiere, along with other applications such as Canva and Hootsuite.

Strong project management capabilities.

Experience in managing events and media activities.

Preferred:
1-3 years of experience in photography, including lighting, composition, retouching, and editing.


1-3 years of experience in creating and editing short videos and animated graphics using software like Adobe Premiere and After Effects.


1-3 years of experience navigating and posting to various social media platforms.

Familiarity with UC Santa Barbara and HDAE's products, services, and mission.

Special Conditions of Employment:
Maintain a valid CA driver's license and a clean DMV record.

Satisfactory criminal history background check.

Job Functions and Percentages of Time:


Social Media Communications & Marketing - 50%: Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications (MarCom) Team to develop and oversee communication and marketing strategies.

Coordinate Digital Signage System - 40%: Promote DigiKnow as a resource for student groups and campus departments, responsible for programming the digital signage network.

Special Projects - 10%: Lead special projects as needed and perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
