Job Summary

The Bus Driver/ Chauffeur II is a vital member of the Hope Network team, responsible for ensuring the safe and courteous transportation of passengers. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service, adherence to traffic regulations, and a passion for maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for all riders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe environment by complying with all traffic regulations and adhering to our COVID-19 pandemic response plan.
  • Follow emergency procedures and enforce passenger safety/conduct rules.
  • Fuel vehicles as necessary.
Passenger Experience
  • Aid passengers as needed or as requested, and verify that all passengers are properly secured.
  • Regulate heating, cooling, and ventilation systems for passenger comfort.
  • Uphold vehicle interior in a neat condition during service operation.
  • Maintain manifest information confidentiality.
  • Cultivate a professional and positive environment.
Documentation
  • Log accurate records, including receiving and accounting for fares, radio communications.
  • Communicate irregularities to the Customer Care team using a two-way radio and prepare written reports.

  • You respect rules, procedures, directions, and traffic regulations.
  • You have a strong command of the English language.

  • You may have current or prior experience as a bus, shuttle, or ride-share driver.
Requirements
  • A valid Michigan Chauffeur's license (or the ability to acquire one).
  • You're capable of lifting at least 50 pounds.
  • You can pass the Department of Transportation's physical examination.
  • Ability to pass drug screen and background check.
  • The ability to adhere to the requirements and standards of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
