Respiratory Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide high-quality respiratory care to patients with a wide range of cardiopulmonary conditions at the Detroit Medical Center.
Job Summary:The Registered Respiratory Therapist will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans for patients, including assessing patient needs, conducting diagnostic tests, and providing therapeutic interventions to improve lung function and overall patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide respiratory care to patients with cardiopulmonary conditions, including COPD, asthma, and pneumonia.
- Conduct diagnostic tests, such as spirometry and arterial blood gas analysis, to assess patient lung function.
- Develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans, including oxygen therapy, ventilator management, and pulmonary rehabilitation.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless transitions between departments.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with the latest respiratory care techniques and technologies.
- Graduation from an accredited respiratory therapy program.
- Registration (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Current licensure to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
