Position Overview:
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Advanced Cost and Capital Accountant to contribute to the Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) division, the largest department within the City of Lincoln. This role is ideal for individuals with a robust background in cost accounting, capital management, and financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate financial data and generate comprehensive audited financial statements.
  • Perform internal and external audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Assist in the optimization of costs and capital investments.
  • Draft financial footnotes for LTU's Annual Financial Reporting.
  • Support the formulation of LTU's annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Design and implement audit plans for city programs.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a major in accounting.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in accounting practices.
Equivalent combinations of training and experience that provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities will also be considered.
